Welcome to my blog

Here I'll write up about new designs that I'm working on, design stuff that interests me and my general love of anything to do with textiles, fashion and photography!

It's been a long time since I wrote anything on this blog, because I've been very busy... but I thought it was about time that I updated it!

My Etsy Shop, 'Cross Stitch Susie' is up and running again and I'm selling copies of my latest book, 'Vintage Cross Stitch Mini Motifs' and my previous book 'Hearts Birds and Flowers' here. Each book costs £8.99 (plus postage).

I'm also selling some of my cross stitch designs as downloadble PDF patterns, so that you can stitch up my designs from these patterns. I've added a few more designs to my shop recently - click on the link below to go to my Etsy shop:

I hope to add more PDF cross stitch patterns as and when I can, so please take a look!

These awards are an annual celebration of all those involved in the crafts industry; from designers to shops and manufacturers of craft items. Voting closed on 20th December, so I'll be interested to see who wins!

There were 38 catagories across both stitching and crafts in general. The competition was run by those lovely folk at these magazines:

'World of Cross Stitching'

'Cross Stitch Crazy'

'Quick Cards Made Easy'

'Card Making and Papercraft'

All those who voted were entered into a prize draw and could have won a years worth of crafting stash apparently......!

Voting took place on this website: www.thebritishcraftawards.com so I wonder if they'll post the winners on here too?!

For a while now I've had a Twitter page, but I've not been sure how to add it to my blog... So I'm doing it the quick way... by adding it as a link!

Click on the link to take you to my Twitter page: https://twitter.com/SusanBates01

It's a bit quicker to post onto Twitter, I'll probably post more there than on my website....

Happy New Year to you if you're reading this on the day I post it!
